Suzanne Dorsey, Executive Director of the Bald Head Island Conservancy, has been appointed to the Coastal Resources Commission, the rule-making body for development along North Carolina’s beaches and estuaries. The No Boundaries International Art Colony will take place on Bald Head Island November 1 through 15. This year, the colony will feature 15 local, regional and international artists, who will come to the island for two weeks of uninterrupted art making. The list of artists is diverse, pulling from locales as far flung as Rwanda, China and Australia, but also from the Wilmington art community. The 29th Annual Maritime Classic Road Race will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2013 on Bald Head Island. For the first time this year, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Old Baldy Foundation for their Fresnel Lens fundraising campaign. The race courses feature a one-mile fun run, 5k and a US Track and Field certified 10k and is managed by the Wilmington Road Runners.
