My husband, four kids and I came in to help with the inauguration Badwater Cape Fear 51 mile race March 22. We came in late Friday night and left Sunday morning. I was looking for a well-located house that my husband and kids could use all-day while I worked as the time-keeper for the race (7 am - 10 pm). The house was perfect for us- and with 2 golf carts, I was able to take one and leave one for the family to use. They toured the lighthouse, went shopping, spent time on the beach and came to visit me several times at the Conservancy (race headquarters). Normally I would be more in charge of taking care of our kids on a trip like this, but this time I couldn't...but Bald Head Island was the perfect venue to let my husband step up and take over. We put the 2 teenagers in the upstairs bedroom so that they could stay up late and use the kitchen/living area. That worked well for all of us early-to-bed-early-to-risers sleeping downstairs.
We arrived after dark on Friday, and as first-timers to Bald Head, had no idea where to go or how to get around. The location of the house made it easy to drop off our things, jump on a golf cart and head to Mojo's for a late dinner (the grocery store had already closed when we got there). The map they provided in the house also helped a lot until we got our bearings. It really is a simple island once you get there and everyone is so helpful if you stop to ask.
We will definitely be back next year for the race! We look forward to exploring more of the island next time.
The Tv's belong in a museum.

High definition TV and a flat screen monitor have been standard for many years. The owners may not enjoy TV but they should warn guests that one must go out to a bar to enjoy a college football game.
Met our expectations and needs perfectly.

Plenty of room for our group of 9 and pretty well set up for the kiddos. I personally loved the upstairs screened-in porch - more like a perch among the treetops. It was our daily breakfast spot.
All the necessities were there and the place was very clean. It took some searching to find things in the kitchen, but we were pretty successful in that pursuit as well.
There is no real "view" from this house, but it is sheltered from the wind and I would definitely recommend it as a nice place to unwind and enjoy the island. It comes with temporary membership to both clubs on the island, which was unclear to me when I rented the place.
We were on the island for our daughter's wedding, so it was wonderful to have a place to call "home" during the before and after time of the wedding. Even the weather cooperated!

We had a wonderful experience staying at all Inn on Bald Head Island for our daughter's wedding. All Inn was such a great house, clean, comfy beds, plenty of space, great location, fully equipped kitchen and 2 golf carts.
