Festive Fun on BHI: Your November & December Holiday Guide

Bald Head Island may embrace a quieter rhythm in the winter, but November and December are packed with festive cheer, art, and community activities for all ages! Get ready to swap your golf cart for a sleigh (well, maybe just decorate your golf cart) and dive into the island's holiday spirit.
November Highlights: Giving Thanks & Lighting Up the Island
The holiday season kicks off with a focus on giving back and community connection:
- Thanksgiving Food Drive: Start your holiday season by helping those in need through the joint Village Chapel and Old Baldy Foundation-sponsored food drive, running through November 20.
- November 26: Santa Paws: Bring your beloved pets out to Jules’ Salty Grub & Island Pub for a photo opportunity with Santa!
- November 28: Christmas Golf Cart Parade & Winter Wonderland: Don't miss the island's unique take on a parade, which begins at the Shoals Club and ends at the BHI Club, followed by a magical Winter Wonderland celebration.
- November 28–29: Smith Island Art League Show: Find the perfect, unique gifts or simply admire the talents of local artists at the Bald Head Association Center.
- November 29: A Day of Holiday Magic: This date is packed with signature island events:
- The Bald Head Island Conservancy’s Turtle Trot: A fun, festive run/walk for a great cause.
- PJ Party & Bottle Bingo: Bald Head Bottle hosts a traditional bottle bingo game with prizes for all ages.
- Old Baldy’s Luminary Night: The historic lighthouse shines bright as paths are illuminated by beautiful luminaries.
- Annual Tree Lighting: Gather with the community at Jailhouse Provisions to watch the official island Christmas tree light up!
December Delights: Potlucks, Carols, and Art
As the year winds down, the celebrations continue:
- December 4: Howl at the Moon: Join this unique community gathering on East Beach under the winter moon.
- December 8: Community Potluck: Share your favorite dishes and enjoy a delicious meal with your island neighbors.
- December 17: Chapel Caroling: Get into the holiday spirit by singing classic carols at the Village Chapel.
