Your Shopping Guide for Bald Head Island

Whether you’re looking for your own beach memento or want to bring someone back a Bald Head Island souvenir, there are several places to go to for the perfect item. When you’re done playing at the beach or swimming at the pool, you can take advantage of these island shops for coastal apparel, jewelry, and locally-made art.

After climbing Old Baldy, check out the Smith Island Museum where you can learn more about the island’s history and purchase items from the gift shop in the Keeper’s Cottage. There are books and Old Baldy souvenirs to choose from and all proceeds benefit Old Baldy Foundation.

Bald Head Island Conservancy’s gift shop, Turtle Central, has a great selection of gifts, toys, and apparel featuring our favorite sea creatures. Sales from the gift shop help fund the many Conservancy’s programs, including the Sea Turtle Protection Program.

Coastal Urge has a retail shop with a variety of popular brands available including Patagonia, North Face, and Vineyard Vines. From swimsuits and active wear to shoes and accessories, you’ll find everything you need to represent coastal living.

All About Art is located in Merchant’s Row and is an ideal place to find a unique work of art to take home. Paintings, photography, sculptures, and jewelry are all on display, available for purchase. There is also an onsite studio that offers classes and demonstrations by local artists.

Bald Head Blues offers “Clothing for Coasting” that is perfect for golf cart cruising around the island. The shop is next to Maritime Market and has a wide selection of quality designs that reflect Bald Head Island’s lifestyle.

Island Passage is another shop that has a number of popular beach brands including Roxy, Quiksilver, and Billabong. They offer apparel for men, women, and children so the whole family can pick out their own new beach threads.

With a trip full of exploring, fun in the sun, and tasty meals, you may not have much time for shopping. If you don’t get to see everything on one Bald Head Island vacation, you’ll just have to plan another trip!
