5 Tips for an Easy yet “Eggcellent” Easter Brunch on Bald Head Island

Easter Brunch on Bald Head Island

The whole family is heading to Bald Head Island for Easter weekend. You can’t wait for pristine beaches and that laid-back lifestyle you have so missed. Of course, traditions are hard to break, and the family is still expecting that extraordinary Easter brunch you put on every year. Here are 5 easy tips to an “eggcellent” Easter Brunch without spending your vacation in the kitchen.

Set a charming table. Most likely you are not going to bring all your Easter décor with you so get creative. Nothing says spring like fresh flowers. Place colorful bouquets around the table or you can arrange a single flower on each dish to create a fancier place setting. Colorful Easter eggs can be used as décor so get the kids involved and have them paint an egg for the occasion.

Plan a simple yet savory menu. You want to include a variety of brunch items without waking up at the crack of dawn to prepare them. Casseroles are easy, delicious and you can prepare them the night before. Just pop in the oven the next morning and you have a crowd pleaser. Mini croissants and pastries can be purchased ahead of time. Serve them with flavorful jams and fresh fruit.

Get creative with cocktails. After all, Easter brunch is a celebration so let the mixologist in you come out! Instead of your average mimosa, try setting up a mimosa bar with a variety of juices to mix with champagne. You can also serve a specialty drink for the season. One of our favorites is Spring Moscow Mule. Shake 2 cups of ginger beer, 6 ounces of vodka, 4 ounces of fresh lime juice and 4 teaspoons of maraschino cherry juice in a martini shaker. Divide evenly into 4 glasses. Drop a maraschino cherry and mint sprig in each glass. Place a slice of lime on the rim, serve and enjoy!

Don’t forget the chocolate bunny! Easter and candy go hand in hand, so a variety of sweets are a must. Most desserts can be purchased, which will save on time, however, it might be nice to have something simple like cookies or pie baking in the oven. There’s nothing better than the smell of homemade treats throughout the house.

Make clean-up easy, peasy. You’re on vacation and the last thing you want to do is a sink full of dishes. Buy some fancy disposable products with spring colors that you can toss in the trash when done and that goes along nicely with your Easter décor.
