4th of July on Bald Head Island

The 4th of July is an exciting time to visit Bald Head Island. Full of festivities, there is so much fun to fit in throughout this Independence Day celebration. Here’s a list of our favorite four events you won’t want to miss on the 4th of July! 

#4 Scavenger Hunt
Meet at the Sail Shop on Tuesday, July 4th at 10:30am for an exciting Kayak Scavenger Hunt! Explore the creeks on Bald Head Island. Do you prefer land over sea? Then head to the Shoals club on Tuesday, at 10:00am for a hunt that will have you all over the island. Team up on your golf cart for a hunt full of activities!

#3 Family Seafood Festival
Bald Head Island Club serves up a tasty seafood buffet for the 4th of July! An ample spread of the freshest of seafood awaits. Live music, face painting, a bounce house, water slide, crafts and games makes this smorgasbord one delicious 4th of July party!

#2 Sunset Sailing 
Watching a beautiful sunset never gets old. Meet at The Sail Shop on the 4th of July at 5:30pm and sail away aboard a 26 foot J80. A breathtaking sunset is the perfect way to celebrate Independence Day!

#1 Golf Cart Parade
Our number one 4th of July event is the Golf Cart Parade. Carts line up at 9:00am and the parade begins at 10:00am. Participate in one of the island’s most beloved traditions. Decorate your cart in one of the following categories: Anything Bald Head Island, Patriotic or Tacky Tourist and parade away! You can sign up at www.oldbaldy.org or call 910-457-7481.
