31st Maritime Classic Road Race

It is a beautiful day on Bald Head Island and a perfect day for a run. The Maritime Classic was held today, Saturday, November 7. A total of sixty runners participated in the 31st annual event, which is sponsored by the Old Baldy Foundation and judged by the Wilmington Road Runners Club. Competition took place in various ages for a 5K run and a Field and Track Certified 10K run. A one-mile fun run was also included in today’s events. Overall gender winners in the 5K and 10K. 

In the 10K male category, Clint Henry of Wilmington, NC took the overall place with a winning time of 39:20. Overall female winner in the 10K event was Mandy Grimshaw of Pinehurst, NC with a winning time of 51:37.

In the 5K male category, Scott Dilling of Oak Island, NC took the overall place with a winning time of 18:54. Overall female winner of the 5K was Brennan Liming of Cary, NC with a winning time of 17:46.
