Bald Head Island Featured on USA Today and WRAL

We’re excited to announce that Bald Head Island has seen it’s fair share of media coverage lately! If you missed any of these great stories, we’ve recapped the last few weeks for you here.

Last week, the island was one of five locations featured in a story titled “Most Romantic Beaches in Georgia and the Carolinas” on USA Today! It’s an honor to be included in this list, which features such beautiful locations as Kiawah Island, SC and Rodanthe in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. For those who haver never visited Bald Head Island and are looking for a romantic getaway, what are you waiting for?

The island was also featured in two TV segments on WRAL's Tarheel Traveler over the past few weeks. The first featured the moving story behind MoJos in the Harbor and how it got its name. If you've eaten at MoJos (and who hasn't?), you likely know the kind faces of it's owners, John and Andrea Pitera. Watch their story here.

The second WRAL story featured the popular Howl at the Moon events, which happen on East Beach each month at the full moon. The Tarheel Traveler did a great job capturing this beloved event, and yes, people really howl when the moon rises. See for yourself by watching the story here!
