Get Ready for an Action Packed July 4 Week on BHI

We love the Fourth of July here on Bald Head Island--summer is in full swing, the island is abuzz with happy vacationers and of course, it's time for the Annual Golf Cart Parade.

This year, July 4 week is jam packed with fun activities, adventures and events, with something for just about everyone. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the fun sails, standup paddleboarding excursions and kayak trips. Kids will get into puppet theater and giant puppet workshop, reptile round-up at the Conservancy, dive-in movies around the Shoals Club pool and a stars and stripes scavenger hunt. And just about everyone in the family can get on board with the family beach olympics, annual BHI Conservancy picnic on the commons and the always popular fireworks cruise. Download the event brochure for a full list of activities so you can start planning your week now.

The Golf Cart Parade is the highlight of July 4 on Bald Head Island. More than 100 carts compete every year for prizes and bragging rights in four categories: Most Patriotic, Tacky Tourist, Environmental and Best of BHI. Competition gets serious, so if you're interested in participating you'll do well to bring your creative ideas, glue gun skills and competitive spirit! The parade starts at 10 a.m. on July 4, and registration starts at 9. Download your cart registration form here and get started planning your cart now.

Happy July 4, we look forward to seeing you on the island!
