Shops on Maritime Way Offer New and Expanded Merchandise

Room Service has moved to a larger space at 4 Maritime Way.

Several of Bald Head Island’s retail shops have been busy this winter gearing up with new and expanded offerings to islanders.

Longtime jewelry and gift shop, Silver Peddler has moved from its location adjacent to the Maritime Market over to a more spacious storefront at 12A Maritime Way. Next door to Coastal Urge, the shop will feature sterling silver jewelry, as well as fine gifts for the home and garden.

Over at Silver Peddler’s old space adjacent to the market, Maritime Market owner Melissa Pope is hard at work preparing to open her shop called Be Our Guest. This new gift store offers a variety of hostess gifts, from fine stemware to picnic and garden accessories, along with a limited selection of jewelry and other unique items for the home. Watch for a soft opening of Be Our Guest March 16 with a grand opening Easter weekend.

Meanwhile, Room Service has expanded and moved into 4 Maritime Way. Along with an eclectic mix of new and vintage home furnishings and gifts, the store will offer a bridal registry.  This store has a wide selection of home goods and now has a designer on hand every Monday for homeowners who need help selecting furniture and gathering beach flair for their BHI home.  Bald Head Island Architectural Review Board administrator, Emily Bonney, has a degree in design and will be available for hire.

Next time you’re on island, make sure to stop by and see what these shops have in store for you.
