Easter Was Picture Perfect on Bald Head Island

Its not Easter on BHI without Captain Charlie the Easter Turtle

We hope everyone had a happy and relaxing Easter weekend. The weather was picture perfect on Bald Head Island – sunshine, blue skies and warm temperatures brought thousands of happy visitors to the island.  With weekend activities ranging from kayak and paddleboarding excursions to wine tastings and dining events to late night shopping and an island-wide Parade of Homes, there was something for just about everyone to enjoy.

The highlight of the weekend (for the kids anyway!) was a delicious breakfast at the Harbourside Pavilion on Saturday morning followed by a good, old fashioned egg hunt. The egg hunt, featuring Bald Head Island’s own Captain Charlie the Easter Turtle, saw hundreds of children racing across the law in search of brightly colored Easter eggs. Everyone had a blast, kids and adults alike. But don’t take it from us, see for yourself.

First, check out this great video which shows a range of Easter activities that happened over the weekend.  Then check out these images of Saturday’s egg hunt. They’ll make you wish you were here (or long to come back soon).

Thanks to Anne McGowan of Shoot! Boutique for the still images. To see all the Bald Head Island Easter images, visit Anne’s website at www.annephoto.com and click on “View Your Event.”
