21st Annual Bald Head Island Fishing Rodeo

The Bald Head Island Fishing Rodeo, a longtime island tradition, promises to be even bigger and better this year. Enter your own boat, or just come out to watch the action harborside.

You'll find the Bald Head Island Fishing Rodeo to be one of the most fun and family-friendly sportfishing tournaments in the region. This year’s first prize winner is guaranteed a minimum $10,000 reward, which promises to keep the action competitive.

Rodeo Highlights

In addition to having unobstructed access to the Atlantic's Gulf Stream, Cape Fear River and Intracoastal Waterway, Bald Head Island Marina's modern amenities include floating docks, fuel, power hook-ups, showers, laundry, nearby restaurants and a convenience store. An attentive dock staff is always on hand to assist marina guests.

Families who accompany their competing anglers can enjoy the beaches, explore our nature trails, kayak or canoe on Bald Head Creek, or climb to the top of Old Baldy Lighthouse. Rodeo participants who dock overnight in the Bald Head Island Marina enjoy temporary memberships in the Bald Head Island Club and the oceanfront Shoals Club during the length of their stay. Memberships in these clubs allow access to an 18-hole golf course, tennis, croquet, pools, fitness centers, direct beach access and a variety of dining facilities. Great rates on golf are available for anglers and their families during the tournament.
