”You
can copy a house, but you can’t copy an environment.”
Lionel Achuck, Property Owner, Bedford, N.Y.
Incorporating an amazing diversity of environments, Bald Head
Island can feel like a totally different place to different people.
Or to the same person on a different visit. Decide which geographic
area of the island most stirs your soul, then claim it as your own.
But keep in mind that, while the environments easily tempt you in
so many different directions, Bald Head Island is still a very intimate
place. So no matter where you are, you'll be surrounded by it all. |
West Beach
Facing the confluence of the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean,
this peaceful spot for swimming and sunbathing treats homeowners to
excellent fishing, spectacular sunsets, and proximity to the various
amenities of Harbour Village and the Bald Head Island Club. You'll
also enjoy splendid views of the Oak Island Lighthouse and ships traveling
to and from the port of Wilmington. |
 |
South Beach
Along South Beach, a dramatic dune ridge gently rises and falls, wide
beaches stretch for miles, and the vast Atlantic Ocean lies in your
front yard. Many homes in this environment have a direct beach access,
and all are just a short walk from numerous public accesses. In addition
to being on or near the ocean, you'll be just a quick cart ride from
the Bald Head Island Club and Shoals Club. |

| East Beach
Bald Head Island’s East Beach offers some of the most spectacular
real estate on the entire East Coast, and we only began releasing
selected homesites— on a very limited basis— in 2001.
This pristine stretch of shoreline inspired a designation as one
of “America’s Top 20 Beaches” by Stephen “Dr.
Beach” Leatherman, and inclusion in the Frommer’s Travel
Guide, "Best Beach Vacations: Carolinas and Georgia".
East Beach homesites represent a premier environment in Cape Fear
Station, Bald Head Island’s master-planned community near
the Cape Fear Point, and the oceanfront Shoals Club. |

Marsh and Creek
Marshes and creeks appear to stretch endlessly to the north of Bald
Head Island, which means east-born sunrises cast nearly as many breathtaking
colors across the expanse as the westerly fading sunsets. Open your
window to the fresh breezes, your doors to the pleasure of canoeing,
fishing, crabbing and kayaking, and your mind to the possibilities. |
 |
Maritime Forest
Sleep under a canopy of stately live oaks, dogwoods, yaupon, wax myrtle,
cedar and palmetto trees. Wake up in a peaceful, private retreat in
one of the most stunning examples of maritime forest on the East Coast,
centrally positioned to all the island has to offer. While these homes
are nestled among the trees rather than perched atop them, they recall
the magical appeal of childhood treehouses. |
 |
Harbour Village
Cedar-shingled cottages rim the 10-acre marina that anchors Harbor
Village, with rocking chairs lined up on each porch like front-row
seats for the show - in this case, a dignified parade of boats passing
in and out of the harbour. Homes in Harbor Village are very convenient
to island restaurants and shopping, and many have lovely views of
the river, ocean, marsh and Old Baldy Lighthouse. |
 |
Golf Course
Long, lush fairways, freshwater lagoons, and thickets of maritime
forest comprise the landscape of our golf course homes, and some also
have great ocean views. Homes in this environment are convenient to
the Bald Head Island Club, with its elegant dining room, lounge and
recreational facilities. Of course, all of the island's beautiful
beaches are just a few minutes away by cart. |
