When planners designed Cape Fear Station, they envisioned a system
of interconnecting walkways that would allow people to take in all
of the community’s remarkable environments— pristine
ocean beach, soaring dune ridge, verdant marsh, lush maritime forest,
and the neighborhood itself, anchored by the beautiful Common—
in a single outing.
Keeper’s Landing is the culmination of that vision.
Thirty-three homes transition from the forest to the marsh’s
edge, where a wooden boardwalk follows the land’s organic
contours, then extends as a pier some 500 feet out into the marsh.
At the pier’s end is an observation deck perfect for crabbing,
fishing and bird watching.
Seven different housing types have been designed for Keeper’s
Landing, including a studio home, and two-, three- and four-bedroom
houses. Cedar shingles and plentiful porches keep the architecture
true to Cape Fear Station’s coastal cottage style, but its
muted color palette was carefully chosen to complement the community’s
forested backdrop. The result is a sense of man taking his place
within the realm of nature.
All homes in Keeper’s Landing include a cart garage, and
some also have a one-bedroom crofter cottage, providing additional
living space for family and friends.
