Bald Head Island Featured in Coastal Living, Real Simple and Travel & Leisure Golf Magazines
Bald Head Island has been getting its fair share of accolades in the press in recent months, with big features in recent issues of Coastal Living, as well as Real Simple Travel. In addition, Bald Head Island was named one of America's Top 100 Golf Communities by Travel & Leisure Magazine for the second year in a row.
Coastal Living's April issue featured a cover photo and four-page spread on the vacation home of Bill Cohwer, former coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, which overlooks the island's marina.
The March issue of Coastal Living featured a "healthy" home on Bald Head Island, designed with building materials that don't release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or other toxins into the atmosphere. The home, designed by Wilmington architect Cothran Harris, was recently purchased for more than $2.5 million.
Real Simple Travel, a new title from Real Simple, included Bald Head Island in an article called "Choose Your Own Adventure," which featured domestic island vacation destinations that are easily accessible. Other islands mentioned included Catalina, off the coast of California, and Block Island, RI.
Travel & Leisure Golf ranked the island in its list of the Top 100 golf communities that combine superb golf with homes and facilities of the highest quality, extraordinary location and a wealth of lifestyle opportunities.
