New General Manager and Expanded Activities Bode Well
for Club's 2008 Season

With Jens Fisker now at the helm of Bald Head Island's Shoals Club, the 2008 schedule of activities and events never looked better. "We have several new activities on the agenda for the season," said Fisker, the club's newly named general manager.

With Easter weekend rapidly approaching, club staffers are already gearing up for fun and food events including an Easter Bonnet Fun Run and Walk, an Easter Egg Hunt, and an Easter Buffet for the entire family, to name just a few.

With a summer season kickoff social event scheduled for May 24, weekly recreational activities begin in earnest and continue through Labor Day. Plans for an expanded recreation program are currently under way, with the new schedule to include volley ball, boccie ball, and a sandbox for the kids.

Weekly activities will include games and crafts for kids, both in and around the pool; family fun and photo scavenger hunts, themed parties for teens, and kids' special nights out with dinner and a movie. Also ready for introduction in the new season are some savory selections from new menus.

Fisker, who has served in various positions within Bald Head Island Limited's hospitality division, first came to Bald Head Island from his native Denmark in 1995. His 25 years of experience in hotel and restaurant management, a certificate from the Culinary Institute of Copenhagen, and his knowledge of international cuisine and languages serve him well in his new position with the Shoals Club.
