Even More Reason to Celebrate When Easter Coincides with Vernal Equinox

Join us for the Easter holiday on Bald Head Island March 21-24. Our annual "rites of spring" celebration re-defines this ages-old festival for a modern day generation! Packed with events that blend traditional spiritual values with the rediscovered wonders of the natural world, the holiday kicks off the island's high season in high style.

Leading off the weekend festivities on Friday, March 21, is a prime rib buffet at the River Pilot Cafe, from 5 until 10 p.m. Next is Bunnies Night Out for kids ages four and up, hosted by the Shoals Club from 6 until 9 p.m. On Saturday, March 22 at 10 a.m., the Bonnet Fun Run and Walk on a pristine stretch of beach is guaranteed to satisfy the body, mind and soul. In addition, there are prizes for those with the most creatively concocted Easter bonnets.

On Saturday, March 22, parents will enjoy an island-wide Easter Parade of Homes, from 12 noon until 4 p.m. An Easter cookout, hosted by Bald Head Island Limited and The Island Agency, will be held at the Harbourside Pavilion from 1 until 4 p.m. featuring live music and games for kids. Later, there's Wine & Music from 4-6 p.m. at The Hammocks where guests will learn about the benefits of fractional ownership in this unique neighborhood. From 5 until 10 p.m., the River Pilot Cafe will host A Taste of the South Buffet.

On Sunday, March 23, the Shoals Club Recreation Department will host island-wide Easter basket deliveries from 8 a.m. until noon. An Easter Buffet will be served at the Shoals Club from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., with an Easter egg hunt and ice cream treats at 2 p.m. More homes go on parade from 1 until 3 p.m., hosted by Bald Head Island Limited and The Island Agency. That evening, the River Pilot Cafe features a Pasta Feast Buffet from 5 until 9 p.m.

An early bird catches the best sightings on Monday, March 24, when the BHI Conservancy hosts a 9 a.m. bird walk. Later, a photo scavenger hunt will be hosted by the Shoals Club beginning at 11 a.m., keeping the kids happily occupied throughout the morning. Then from 2 until 3 p.m., an Easter Tie Dye will be held on the clubhouse deck. Winding up the evening from 9 until 5 p.m., the River Pilot Cafe offers a Bounty of the Sea Buffet.
