| An
incorporated municipality, the Village of Bald Head Island is governed
by a Village Council and operates on a budget funded in part by
ad valorem taxes.
A village manager and support staff administer the daily business
of the Village from offices located in the Town Hall across from
Old Baldy Lighthouse. The village also employs a fire chief, building
inspector, paramedic/firefighters and police officers. Bald Head
Island is also part of the Brunswick County 911 Emergency System.
Tax revenues provide services such as road maintenance, fire protection,
police protection, emergency medical services, garbage collection
and building inspection.
Located beside Town Hall, the Village Post Office offers window
service from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Box holders may
pick up mail seven days a week, 24 hours a day, and mail may be
dropped off at any time.
