Wine Tasting and Sunset Celebration

Sunday, September 1st, 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Last Wine Tasting and Sunset Celebration of the Season It’s been an incredible summer on Bald Head Island, and now it’s time to cap it off with style. On Sunday afternoon, September 1, head up to the harbor and join us for our last wine tasting of the season on the porch of the Bald Head Island Limited Real Estate Sales office from 4-6 p.m. Make plans to stay for the final Sunset Celebration this summer, sponsored by Delphina Cantina, Riverside Adventure Co. and Bald Head Island Limited Real Estate Sales. Kids of all ages will enjoy the live DJ, juggler, puppet show and storytellers. Around 7 p.m. the party moves over to beach access #5 behind the sales office and features a drum circle, bonfire, s’mores and a spectacular sunset. The event promises to be epic, so don’t miss out!

Wine-ing About Art

Please note, our talented artist-in-residence Chappy Valente is available for private and group lessons through the fall and winter. Chappy’s “Wine-ing About Art” classes were such a big hit this summer, we’re continuing them on Friday evenings this fall from 6-9 p.m . Bring your own bottle of wine and enjoy a landscape painting lesson, along with the lively company of other class participants. Normally $75, the discounted off-season fee is only $55, making it a delightful way to spend a cool fall evening. Please call All About Art at 910-368-5336 no later than 2 days before the class to preregister, as we need four students to make a class.

Several of the island’s most talented artists, including Pam Toll, Chappy Valente, Lena Moschet, Peter Quinn and Jan Triplett will be painting at various points around the island all day on Friday and Saturday, September 27-28 . Stop by All About Art at 6B Merchant’s Row for a map showing their designated locations, and enjoy the opportunity to observe the artists and view their works in progress. Then join us back at All About Art on Saturday, September 28 from 6-8 p.m. for wine, hors d’oeuvres and a “wet paint” exhibit and sale.

Friends of Music Society's 2013-2014 concert

The Friends of Music Society's 2013-2014 concert season begins on Friday Evening September 27, 2013 at 7:30PM, and the opening concert will be performed on the chapel's new 4 manual 84 stop Rodgers/Ruffatti Organ. The concert artist is German Born Virtuoso Felix Hell. Felix - who is now 27 - was a child prodigy and has been performing around the world since he was 13. The Bald Head Island concert will include three works of JS Bach and in conclusion a major work by Franz Liszt. In organist circles, Felix is considered by most to be the greatest organist alive today.
