GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
The employee serves as a first level supervisor and assistant to the Recreation Coordinator. This position is responsible for assisting with the supervision of the seasonal recreation staff and participates in the coordination and implementation of events. The position is afforded considerable latitude in carrying out assigned responsibilities and tasks, and often works independently without supervision. This position also assists with the maintenance and upkeep of the entire Shoals Club recreation facility. The position is accountable for success of the assigned events as well as customer satisfaction. Reports to the Recreation Coordinator.

Contributes to all aspects of planning, organizing, and implementing recreational and special event programs including: children, teen, and adult activities, VIP guest activities, convention planning, and sports events.
Provides help in developing action plans and organizing activities for conference groups, special and holiday events.
Supports and helps with daily operation of Shoals Club aquatics operation; including: pool maintenance & management; supervising pool & beach staff; and coordinating & implementing aquatic programs
Supervises age appropriate recreation for special population persons. Works directly with individuals participating in the program.
Performs clerical and administrative duties, as assigned.
Coordinates activities and events with food and beverage department, other community agencies, and/or organizations associated with special events at Bald Head Island.
Supervises or performs necessary preparation of recreational areas and ensures availability of needed equipment and supplies as well as the safety and well being of the recreation Department employees and Shoals Club guests.
Manage and maintains fitness facilities at the Shoals Club.
Supervision of all related staff to the fitness facility.
Responsible for the maintenance of equipment, and the scheduling of all related services in the fitness facility.
Keeps inventories of supplies.
Performs related work as required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from two year college with a degree in recreation or related field or completion of associate degree or similar second year study at a college or university seeking a degree in recreation or related field, and one year of experience coordinating special events; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT (S)
Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license.
Must have Basic First Aid training and CPR certification.
