Under general supervision, performs clerical and communication work in coordinating workflow as dictated by demand of internal and/or external customers. Reports to the Head Dispatcher
Answers telephone and receives inquiries, provides requested information or refers caller to appropriate personnel; routes messages as needed. Maintains a variety of tangible files, filing and retrieving information as requested or otherwise necessary. Monitors radio transmissions and dispatches field personnel. Performs administrative duties and compiles data for special projects or reports, as assigned, ensuring completion by specified deadlines in accordance with established guidelines. Receives and records ferry and tram reservations; prepares schedule for tram service; collects fees for ferry tickets; compiles various reports accounting for daily, weekly, monthly volume; maintain cash box and reconciles at end of day or shift. Communicates with outfitter, barge, boat and public safety personnel (via VHF radio if necessary) in coordinating various requests from customers. Records ticket revenue daily by tallying boat reports on all tickets received for each ferry run. Maintains keys for emergency use to Contractor Service Village. Performs other related work as required.
Graduation from high school or equivalent, one year of clerical experience and six months in a position dealing with the public; or an equivalent combination of training and experience to provide the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
