GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Under general supervision, performs clerical and communication work in coordinating workflow as dictated by demand of internal and/or external customers. Reports to the Head Dispatcher

Essential Functions:
Answers telephone and receives inquiries, provides requested information or refers caller to appropriate personnel; routes messages as needed.
Maintains a variety of files, filing and retrieving information as requested or otherwise necessary.
Monitors radio transmissions and dispatches field personnel.
Performs administrative duties and compiles data for special projects or reports, as assigned, ensuring completion by specified deadlines in accordance with established guidelines.
Receives and records ferry reservations; collects fees for ferry tickets; compiles various reports accounting for daily, weekly, monthly passenger volume; reconciles cash box and prepares appropriate reports for accounting at end of day or shift.
Communicates with dock, barge, and ferry personnel (via VHF radio if necessary) in coordinating various requirements.
Greets arriving guests, collects payments, answers questions. Uses various media to collect payments including cash, checks, and credit card machines. Provides receipts.
Reports malfunction of equipment or repairs needed to proper personnel.
Handles packages for owners/guests per department guidelines.
Prepares copies of daily work sheets and copies of all necessary forms for operating Deep Point office; prepares change orders and pick up if necessary.
Performs other related work as required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school or equivalent, one year of clerical experience and six months in a position dealing with the public; or an equivalent combination of training and experience to provide the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel programs.
Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
